Pittsburgh Pirates Cove

The Pittsburgh Pirates Cove is a special section on the 200 level of PNC Park. The PNC Park seating chart shows the Pirates Cove located in the right field corner just below the Outfield Grandstand sections above right field.

Pittsburgh Pirates Cove sections are numbered 201 through 205. Every Pirates Cove ticket includes $10 of “loaded value” which can be used to purchased food or merchandise at PNC Park. While specific rules vary by game, loaded value amounts should generally be used during the same day as the game. No Pirates Cove ticket is sold without the loaded value included so all fans in this section are essentially forced to buy at least $10 of food or merchandise in addition to paying for the basic cost of the Pirates Cove ticket.

Pirates Cove tickets cost $20 when bought in advance or $23 for the day of the game. As most fans who choose Pirates Cove tickets intend to use the entire $10 of stored value, the cost of the ticket thus becomes $10 or $13. Given that $10 to $13 is the approximate cost of tickets for the 300 level of PNC Park, the Pirates Cove section can offer slightly better seats in exchange for a guarantee of spending the $10 loaded value at the ballpark. Patrons not intending to buy at least $10 of food or merchandise at the stadium should avoid the Pirate Cove area.
